Back to School Fashion Trends for Fall 2011

It's almost fall and for students, that only means one thing--it's time to go back to school! While this may not be welcome news for every teenaged student and while everyone has different motivations to go back to school (sadly), one thing that a lot of ladies are looking forward to is being able to strut the campus hallways in their new outfits. Indeed, new fashion trends are out there for this Fall, and the more fashion-conscious students should take note of these tips if they want to look hip.

One type of clothing that is getting a lot of attention these days is the midi skirt. These calf-length skirts have been around since the 40's, with an attempted resurgence in the 70's and this year. What's nice about midi is that, when styled correctly, it is elegant and sexy without having the need to show too much skin. It's about time that we bring back some sophistication in our lives, right? The challenge is now to carry it well, leaving some room for fashion adventure.

Camouflage prints also seem to be making a comeback this year, with a lot of designs not only settling for just mere camo prints, but also incorporating enough style so that the camo-printed clothes do not look like they are fit for a costume party. As a general tip, it is not advisable to wear so many camouflage prints in one outfit. Instead, just pick one--a blouse, pants, etc.--and accessorize in order to make the outfit fashionable.

Other print and clothing types that are hot this coming season are plaids (they are in, year in, year out, right?) and woven sweaters. As for colors, watch out for jade and rusty hues.

These are all suggestions. Just suggestions. Always remember that how you look and how attractive you will be is not dependent on how fashionable your clothes are at the moment. It's all about how you carry yourself that will take you through your first days in school.
